The development of bilateral tourism relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil was the focus of discussions during a meeting between Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, and Selso Sabino, Minister of Tourism of the Federative Republic of Brazil, on November 22.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the designation of a special Tourism Day within COP29, held in Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum of tourism-related initiatives during COP30 in Brazil. The discussion also covered potential collaborative efforts in this direction.
Additionally, the two sides explored expanding bilateral tourism cooperation and the organization of joint events to strengthen ties between the two countries' tourism industries.
As part of the meeting, Fuad Naghiyev and Selso Sabino planted a pomegranate tree in front of the State Tourism Agency’s headquarters, symbolizing the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and Brazil.
In a gesture of goodwill, Fuad Naghiyev presented a pomegranate tree to Selso Sabino to be planted in Brazil, symbolizing the continuation of tourism and climate cooperation within COP30. This initiative aims to ensure that tourism and climate topics remain on the agenda of future COP summits, reinforcing their importance in global climate discussions.
